Now that you are all excited about The Gambia...

What is the best and cheapest way to get there ?

Not too many airplane operators fly to Banjul...

Best offers leaving from Schiphol/Amsterdam are from Corendon: http://www.corendon.com/flights-amsterdam-banjul

They have a very handy website that shows ticket pricing in function of dates.  Prices are around 400 € for a return ticket.

But sometimes it can be cheaper to book a full trip including hotel and breakfast using ARKEFLY.NL.  Simular offers are found at KRAS.NL, both also operating from Schiphol/Amsterdam.

Normal pricings are around 600 € but often deals at 350 € for a week including hotel !

Apart from this SNBRUSSELS runs a regular but pricy service at 960 € return ticket

Another way is using CONDOR starting from frankfurt at 535 €

Please don't get scared off by the starting airports maybe not too close to your home.  Every hotel near the airport offers a so called "PARK SLEEP AND FLY" service at the price of the average airport car parking.  You drop your car on the hotel parking, stay at your choice the day of leaving or the day of return, and a hotel shuttle will transport you free to the airport.  Sometimes this is even cheaper than parking (like in Brussels)
